Crazy thieves rob supermarket 600 rolls of toilet paper in Hong Kong

The Wuhan Coronavirus epidemic continued, and Hong Kong citizens continued to buy masks and toilet papers. The thieves determined that the toilet paper is valuable, they preferred to rob the toilet paper instead of money. At 5am in the morning, the supermarket delivery workers placed multiple pallets of goods, including toilet paper and other daily necessities, outside the door of Wellcome Supermarket in Mong Kok Road. The supermarket was not open at that time, and the workers waited outside the door.

About 15 minutes later, three male thieves in their 20s wearing masks and peaked caps. one of them held a knife to scare the staff to “sit down”, and the other two moved 50 packs of toilet papers to the trolley and then headed towards Sai Yee Street. The thief only robbed toilet paper and did not rob other goods, leaving many plates of soda and drinks. The helpless staff called the police for help. IThe thief robbed 50 packs of virjoy toilet paper, or a total of 600 rolls of toilet papers, with a total value of about HKD 1,695 (USD 218).

Although the supermarket was robbed of toilet paper by thieves, there is still a large number of toilet paper available to the supply market. One pack of Virjoy toilet paper sells for HKD 33.9 (USD 4) , and two Vinda four-layer toilet papers sell for HKD 75.6 (USD 9.7). After the supermarket opened its doors this morning, Virjoy had all sold out by 10 am, and by 11 am, even the remaining Vinda was sold out. Toilet paper are limited to two packs of toilet papers each person at each purchase in the supermarket.
